To be examined at our Centre?

  • The laboratory is accredited with the ISO 15189 standard, so you can be confident that your tests will be performed to the highest quality.
  • You will find out the results of the main tests within 1–2 hours and the rest within 1 day, except in cases where this is impossible due to the technological process (e.g., the time it takes for a culture to grow).

  • Tests can be carried out anonymously.

Beta-carotene is a provitamin of vitamin A. It is used by the body to produce vitamin A in the liver when required. Although beta-carotene is a fat-soluble vitamin, there is no danger of overdosing on it.

  • You can pick up your test results at the reception or, if you wish, we will email them.
  • For an explanation of the test results, you should call the laboratory tel. (+370) 247 64 17.

FAQ (frequently asked questions)

Beta-carotene is associated with vitamin A. It is, therefore, recommended to have these tests carried out simultaneously.

Green leafy vegetables, apricots, carrots, tomatoes, pumpkins, cabbage, persimmons, tangerines, grapefruit, liver, eggs, sea-buckhorn and rowan berries are all rich in beta-carotene. It has been proved that beta-carotene received naturally with food is noted for its better antioxidant properties than the synthetic version.

The daily norm of beta-carotene for adults is 800 mg.
