Lithotripsy
Treatment of nephrolithiasis and ureterolithiasis
Lithotripsy is a contemporary non-invasive (no-scalpel), careful, safe and effective treatment for nephrolithiasis and ureterolithiasis.
Lithotripsy can be done when the diameter of the stone ranges between 5 and 25 mm. Our lithotripter is equipped with ultrasound that can detect even uric acid calculi, which are not detectable with X-ray. Extracorporeal lithotripsy can successfully treat 90% of patients who have stones in their kidneys or ureters.
A control X-ray exam is carried out after 2 weeks in order to determine whether the stone has been totally eliminated.
